198 cm in feet

How to convert 198 cm to feet and inches

Divide by 2.54 to get inches, then divide by 12: the whole number is feet and the remainder is inches.

198 ÷ 2.54 = 77.95 in
77.95 ÷ 12 = 6 ft 5.95 in ≈ 6'6"

198 cm does not land on a whole inch: it works out to 6' 6". That is why it is usually written as 6'6", which is 0.1 cm more than the original — close enough for everyday use, while the chart keeps the exact 198 cm.

How to measure 198 cm accurately at home

If you want to check whether you really are 198 cm, a careful home measurement is accurate to within about half a centimeter:

1. Measure in the morning, barefoot, standing on a hard floor rather than carpet.
2. Stand with your heels, buttocks, shoulders and the back of your head touching a wall, and look straight ahead.
3. Have someone rest a hardcover book or a set square flat on your head, square against the wall, and mark the wall underneath it.
4. Measure from the floor to the mark with a metal tape, and repeat two or three times; use the average.
