Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we do not, and how advertising and hosting partners handle your data when you use HeightComparison.
Last updated:
1.Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information HeightComparison ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit https://heightcomparisonchart.net (the "Site"), how that information is used, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us at contact@heightcomparisonchart.net.
The short version: the height comparison tool runs entirely inside your browser. The names, heights, genders and colors you type in are never sent to our servers. The only data collected on the Site comes from standard web hosting logs and from the advertising and analytics partners described below.
2.Data you enter into the tool
Everything you add to a comparison (a person's name, height, model type and color) is held in your browser's memory while the page is open. We do not transmit it, store it in a database, or associate it with you in any way. When you close the tab, it is gone.
Shared links. When you click Share, the tool encodes the current comparison directly into the URL you copy. That URL is created on your device. Anyone you send it to will be able to see the names and heights it contains, so only share a link with people you are comfortable showing that information to.
Downloaded images. The Download button renders the chart to a PNG file on your device. The image is not uploaded anywhere.
3.Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server log data when your browser requests a page. This can include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you visited, the date and time of the visit, and the referring page. This information is used to keep the Site running, diagnose problems, and understand aggregate traffic. It is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
5.Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense to support the cost of running the Site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and to other websites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and other sites.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- Google's handling of data in its advertising products is described in the How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services page.
Other third-party ad networks may also serve ads on the Site from time to time. Each of them has its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We recommend reviewing those policies for details on how they handle your information and how to opt out.
6.Analytics
We may use a privacy-conscious analytics service to understand which pages are popular and how the Site performs. If such a service is enabled, it collects aggregate, non-identifying data (page views, approximate country, device type and browser). We do not use analytics to build profiles of individual visitors.
7.Third-party links
The Site may link to external websites, for example sources cited in our guides. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. This Privacy Policy applies only to HeightComparison.
8.Children's privacy
The Site is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age required by your local law). Because the tool stores nothing on our servers, there is no account or profile a child could create. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
9.Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to object to processing. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
Because we do not hold personal data about you beyond what is in ordinary server logs and any email you send us, most requests will be satisfied simply by confirming that. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@heightcomparisonchart.net.
10.Data security
The Site is served over HTTPS, which encrypts traffic between your browser and our hosting provider. The most effective security measure we take, though, is simply not collecting your data in the first place.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new service to the Site. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
12.Contact us
Questions about this policy or about your data? Email us at contact@heightcomparisonchart.net or use the contact page. We aim to reply within a few business days.
